Position:          Fabrication Helper 

Schedule:        Full-Time, Monday - Friday 6:30 am - 3:00 pm with overtime as required

Fabrication Helpers will utilize the necessary skills and procedures to construct items used in the production of specialized communication units produced by Nomad GCS.    

Essential Functions / Responsibility:  

· Fabricate and welds metal and/or aluminum by applying the appropriate welding techniques.
· Must maintain a good proficiency rate, with training involved to achieve a higher level.
· Works under immediate supervision.
· Primary job functions include deburring material, staging material to be welded, stock cutting material and occasionally welding when asked to do so. Typically does not require exercising independent judgment.  

Basic Knowledge Desired: 

 · Understands the significance of the Nomad Core Values and displays a demonstrated willingness to apply them to your work.  

· 0-1 years of experience in interpreting blueprints, specifications, diagrams or schematics and determining appropriate welding process. 

· 0-1 years of experience with MIG, TIG, spool gun, or push-pull welding applications.

Working Environment: 

 · The current work environment is a partially environmentally controlled indoor environment. Depending upon the time of year, the working temperature can fluctuate between 60F and 100F but typically is held around 70F. 

 · The Employee must have the ability to work from heights at ground floor up to 20’ from the ground on ladders or platforms of varying sizes. 

 · The Employee will be subjected to noise levels which may range from moderately loud to loud and will be required to wear provided safety hearing devices from time to time.  

 · The Employee will be exposed to a variety of household/commercial chemicals daily which will require the Employee to follow company rules/regulations outlined by that chemical’s MSDS. 

 · Welding helmet and proper preventative safety attire are required at all times while welding.

 · Position requires physical stamina necessary to work in awkward positions, standing up for long periods, bending, stooping, and lifting.     

Qualifications & Experience:  

 · High School Graduate, Diploma or GED received. Further education or an apprenticeship desired. 

 · 0-3 years of previous welding experience.

 · Good math skills including understanding numerical data and taking accurate measurements.

 · Must have a valuable clear vision, being able to see details at close range of self.

 · Prefer some previous experience in interpreting blueprints, specifications, diagrams or schematics and determining appropriate welding process, but not necessary. As well as previous experience knowledge of MIG, TIG, spool gun, or push-pull welding applications. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job, but not necessary.

The Stock-Cutter will utilize the necessary skills and procedures to cut items used in the production of specialized communication units produced by Nomad GCS.  
Essential Functions / Responsibility:
• Study blueprints or other instructions to determine the proper equipment setup required. 

• Examine and measure materials or products to verify conformance to specifications, using measuring devices, such as a tape measure or micrometers. 

• Mark cutting lines or identifying information on stock.

• Monitor the operation of cutting machines to detect malfunctions or to determine whether supplies need replenishment. 

• Adjust machine controls to alter position, alignment, speed, or pressure. 

• Stack finished items for further assembly in Fabrication. 

• Maintain production records, such as quantities, types, and dimensions of materials produced. 

• Operate cranes, or signal crane operators to position or remove metal before cutting. 

• Change or replace saw blades, cables, cutter heads, and grinding wheels, using hand tools. 

• Cut stock manually to prepare for machine cutting, using tools such as plasma cutters, Oxy/acetylene torches, knives, handsaws, hammers or chisels. 

• Perform routine maintenance on equipment and determine when and white kind of maintenance is needed. 

• Safely and properly operate a forklift to assist with moving materials. 

• Clean production equipment. 

• Lubricate production equipment.

Position:          Production Technician - Production

The Production Technician is critical to Nomad’s success in providing quality products to our customers in a timely fashion. 

Essential Functions / Responsibility:

· Already has 2 years of experience in working within one or more of the following areas:

    o Cabinet or Counter-top Construction

    o General construction

    o Finish carpentry

    o Working with CAD layouts

    o Cabling management (low voltage)

    o 120VAC or 12VDC electrical

    o Security or Surveillance Systems

    o Welding/cutting (steel & aluminum) – MIG or TIG

    o Data Networking

    o Business Phone System Installation & Programming

    o HVAC

    o General Plumbing (use of PVC, PEX, etc.)

    o General hydraulics

· Creation and adaptions of process sheets, kits, and other components for the Lean process.

· Operate a wide variety of testing equipment to include: electrical multi-meters, LP leak detectors, high/low voltage metering, and pressure/vacuum testing.

· Will be cross-trained to work on a variety of processes including, but not limited to: flooring installation, electrical systems, plumbing, door and window installation, stabilizing systems, HVAC, cabinet and counter-top making, welding and technology integration.

· Additional duties on an as-needed basis assigned by management. 

Basic Knowledge Desired:

· Complete knowledge and understanding of the process timeline for the standard vehicles constructed (Dispatch, Responder, and IC’s). Technicians must also be active in working with management in adapting current timelines to increase productivity and safety within the shop.

· Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of precision technical plans, drawings and models.

· Knowledge in ability to operate a variety of current standard shop tools to include, but not limited to: corded/cordless drills/drivers/hammer drill, drill press, corded/cordless saws (table, skill, reciprocating, jig, compound miter, radial, band, cut off), grinders, orbit sanders, pneumatic tools (finish nailer, roofing nailer, stapler, impact wrenches, compressors), a wide variety of hand tools (screw drivers, wrenches (box, combination, adjustable, etc.), pliers (needle nose, linesmen, slip joint, strippers/cutters, terminal connectors), bolt cutters, diagonal cutters, alan keys, socket/driver sets, rulers (metric, standard, carpenter style measuring tapes, protractor/angle finders), stud finders, levels, squares, utility knifes, hammers, wrecking bars, bench vises, clamps, punches, files, putty knives, battery chargers/testers, multi meters, rivet guns (air/hand), cable tie guns, cutting tools (drill bits, hole saws), wet/dry vacuum cleaners, etc. 

Physical Demands:

· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and arms to finger, handle, feel, reach or operate objects, tools or controls.

· Frequently required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk and hear and is occasionally required to sit.

No team member is to perform the duties requiring a respirator until they have successfully complied with the Respiratory Protection Program. 

Qualifications & Experience: 

· High School Graduate, Diploma or GED received. 

· Prefer a minimum of 2 years documented experience working with one or more of the bullet point topics on page 1 under Essential Functions/Responsibility, bullet point three. 

· Valid driver’s license in good standing.

Position:           Electrical Technician - Production

Schedule:         Full-Time, Monday - Friday 6:30 am - 3:00 pm with overtime as required

Overview: Nomad Global Communication Solutions is a leading provider of communication and response products serving a wide variety of customers. This is a hands-on role to safely provide quality electrical knowledge and skills to build projects that meet customer and Nomad specifications. To install, test and quality assure the 12V and 120V systems within projects. Evaluate and continuously improve electrical processes, in Nomad while maintaining consistent use of existing ones.

Essential Functions / Responsibility:

  • Splicing wires and soldering connections to fixtures and equipment.
  • Diagnosing or repairing problems with electrical equipment, such as lights, relays, battery isolators, generators sound, navigation, communication, security equipment, and leveling systems in motor vehicles.
  • Installing equipment and accessories such as stereos, navigation equipment, communication equipment, and security systems.
  • Running wires and cables for AC and DC systems, controls, and various electronic appliances.
  • Cutting openings and drilling holes for fixtures and equipment, using electric drills, air saws, and multi-tools.
  • Replace electrical or electronic components.
  • Build wooden enclosures and carpeted wall panels to custom fit vehicle dimensions.
  • Ability to be cross-trained in areas including, but not limited to, flooring installation, plumbing, door, and window installation, HVAC, cabinet and counter-top making, welding, and I.T. integration.
  • Additional duties as needed by supervisor.

Basic Knowledge Desired:

  • Readiness and understanding of electrical pull sheets and wiring diagrams.
  • Electrical concepts, processes, and theories of 120VAC and 12VDC. (12VDC is a BIG PLUS!)

  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, uses, repair, and maintenance.

  • Team Members are subjected to noise levels which may range from moderately loud to loud. A Hearing Conservation Test was performed, eliminating the requirement for hearing protection; however, it is available if needed.
  • All Team Members must wear close-toed shoes and the provided OSHA approved eye protection at all times on the Production Floor.
  • Team Members are exposed to a variety of household/commercial chemicals which requires Team Members to follow company rules/regulations regarding safety and MSDS information.

  • 1-5+ years of experience diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical circuitry.
  • 1-5+ years experience reading and following CAD.

Location: Columbia Falls, MTEnds on

Position: I.T. Integration Technician – Engineering I.T.
Schedule:   Full-Time, Monday - Friday 6:30 am - 3:00 pm with overtime as required
Reports To:       I.T. Integration Manager/Head of Engineering I.T.

The main function of the I.T. Integration Technician is to install IT related equipment, hardware, radios, cables, connectors and follow processes and procedures, and to read and follow CAD drawings. The I.T. Integration Technician must be able to communicate and document progress for projects along the way as well.
Essential Functions / Responsibility:
• Ability to follow the I.T. Integration Process Flow to perform all Integration-specific tasks necessary to complete each project according to the I.T. Engineer’s system design.
• Reading the Cable Runs spreadsheet and follow best practices running and dressing cables from the source and destination locations.
• Installing (crimping, soldering, etc.) the proper connectors at each end of the cables according to SOP’s and best practices.
• Installing equipment according to the Rack Layout spreadsheet. Must be able to mount hardware on shelf racks for a mobile environment.
• Understanding and following a comprehensive Equipment Interconnects spreadsheet which will show all of the in-rack patches and patch cable types between different rack-mounted equipment in the vehicle.
• Following and installing Antenna’s according to the Antenna Layout spreadsheet which will show the physical mounting locations of all RF antennas on the roof of the vehicle.
• Running the Equipment Test and document results in a spreadsheet.
• Installing, configuring, and troubleshooting cabling, antennas, electronics, and accessories in the Technician’s list of Core I.T. Competencies.
• Edit/update all documentation as tasks are completed to keep the I.T. Integration Manager, I.T. Engineer, and other management up to speed on project status.
• Track time accurately and consistently win our ERP program for each step of the project.
• Assist Production (when needed) to complete the project, which may include work outside of the I.T. scope.
• Perform other duties and activities as required or as requested by your supervisor.
Basic Knowledge Desired:
• Must be able to demonstrate competency in the 3 Basic IT Competencies after the initial 6-month probationary period.

• Must be able to demonstrate competency in 1 or more of the Core I.T. Competencies on the job.

• Very broad amount of computer & electronic knowledge. Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.
• Accurately understand how to document each step of your specific job’s process into our recording system in real time.
Physical Demands:
• While performing the duties of this job, employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and talk.
• Manual Dexterity, finger dexterity, arm-hand steadiness, multi-limb coordination.
Working Environment:
• The current work environment is partially environmentally controlled indoor environment. Depending upon time of year, working temperature can fluctuate between 60F and 100F, but typically is held around 70F.
• The Employee must have the ability to work from heights at ground floor up to 20’ from the ground on ladders or platforms of varying sizes.
• The Employee may be subjected to noise levels which may range from low volume to loud and will be required to wear provided safety hearing devices from time to time. A Hearing Conservation Test was performed, eliminating the requirement for hearing protection; however, it is available if personally needed.
• The Employee will be exposed to a variety of household/commercial chemicals which will require the Employee to follow company rules/regulations outlined by that chemical’s MSDS.
• All Team Members must wear provided OSHA approved eye protection at all times on the Production Floor.
• PPE – The Employee will be required to wear provided safety eye-wear throughout the performance of their duties. In some cases (painting, insulating, undercoating, etc.) the team member may be required to wear a respirator. No Team Member is to perform the duties requiring a respirator until they have successfully complied with the Respiratory Protection Program.
Qualifications & Experience:
• High School Graduate, diploma received. Further education preferred.
• 3-5 years of I.T. experience preferred.
• Highly prefer skills already acquired in audio/video, radio, Wi-Fi and cellular, VSAT, CCTV, security, data and networking, voice, etc.
• Valid driver’s license in good standing.

Welders/Fabricators will utilize the necessary skills and procedures to construct items used in the production of specialized communication units produced by Nomad GCS. 


Essential Functions / Responsibility:
· Fabricate and weld metal and/or aluminum by applying the appropriate welding techniques. 

· Must maintain a good proficiency rate, avoiding any rework. Complete extra training to achieve a higher level of skill and accuracy. 

· Requires the ability to weld both metal and aluminum using MIG, TIG, spool gun, and push-pull. 

· Strong points would be in fabrication concepts, practices, and procedures within the welding field. 

· Relies on experience and judgment to accomplish goals. 

· Works under general supervision; typically reports to a supervisor or manager. 

· May be cross-trained to work on a variety of processes including, but not limited to: flooring installation, electrical systems, plumbing, door and window installation, stabilizing systems, HVAC, cabinet and countertop making, welding and technology integration.

Basic Knowledge Desired:
· Understands the significance of the Nomad Core Values and displays a demonstrated willingness to apply them to your work.

· 1-5+ years of experience of interpreting blueprints, specifications, diagrams or schematics and determining appropriate welding process. 

· 1-5+ years of experience and knowledge of MIG, TIG, spool gun, or push-pull welding applications. 

· Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. 

· Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods. 

· Basic knowledge of the Metric and Imperial Measurement Systems, and how to calculate with them.

Physical Demands:
· Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (unassisted) safely on a regular basis. 

· The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk and hear and is occasionally required to sit. 

· Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to distinguish colors. 

· Must be able to wear the proper protection equipment all day while working.
 

Working Environment:

· Welding helmet and proper preventative safety attire are required at all times while welding. 

· All Team Members must wear provided OSHA approved eye protection at all times on the Production Floor

· Position requires physical stamina necessary to work in awkward positions, standing up for long periods of time, bending, stooping, and lifting.
 

Qualifications & Experience:
· High School Graduate, Diploma or GED received. Further education or an apprenticeship desired. 

· 1-5+ years of previous welding and metal fabrication experience. 

· Good math skills including understanding numerical data and taking accurate measurements. 

· Must have valuable clear vision, being able to see details at close range.

· Required knowledge and experience with: Interpreting blueprints, specifications, diagrams or schematics, determining appropriate welding process, MIG, TIG, spool gun, push-pull welding applications.
