Position: Electrical Engineer - Engineering

The purpose of the Electrical Engineer is to be actively involved in the relaying of critical information between Engineering and Production. The Electrical Engineer must have strong electrical wiring and troubleshooting experience, and have the ability to take direction from and collaborate with Engineers, other Designers, Drafters, and Production staff in an efficient team environment. They are responsible for creating accurate, sensible and consistent electrical schematics within set timelines to enable Production to succeed in producing specialty vehicles to the level of precision and functionality engineered by the Engineering team. 

Essential Functions / Responsibility:

  • Create Production ready electrical schematics based on information from Engineering drawings, Specs&PN, and other sources as needed. 
  • Create &/or use standard drawing templates for consistency, error reduction and speed in the production of schematics. Use Electra software to create schematics.
  • Maintain electronic database (Excel or similar) to track components, available wire, etc. 
  • Produce calculations to track loads on each wire, and the entire vehicle, to assist with the correct sizing of generators, shore power, etc. 
  • Balance loads to each line.
  • Correctly size all wires, fuses, breakers, loads, etc. Correctly label all wires.
  • Communicate with Engineering to identify and resolve differences between Electrical drawings, mechanical drawings, and Specs&PN. 
  • Communicate requirements for customized equipment to vendors, and work effectively with the Purchasing Department to get items ordered in a timely manner. 
  • Create Excel-based spreadsheets to generate BOMs for electrical components.
  • Assist Engineering in gathering of critical information required to correctly wire the final product. 
  • Assist Engineering in selecting new products, and recommending new or improved products.
  • Work with Production to answer questions and demonstrate how the wiring should be installed.
  • Working with Production to ensure that wiring schematics are accurate and useful. Implementing improvements as needed to the electrical schematics process. 
  • Daily track and record work hours for each specific project. 
  • Willing, on a very limited basis, to travel as needed by Management. 
  • Other duties may be assigned by Management. 

Basic Knowledge Desired: 

  • Understands the significance of the Nomad Core Values and display a demonstrated willingness to apply them to your work.  
  • Must be comfortable and knowledgeable with using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook). Abilities with Microsoft Access are also helpful.

The Electro-Mechanical Engineer’s work is a critical stage in the Engineering process.  They are responsible for taking electrical designs from concept through production by creating parts and assemblies and compiling them into complete production-ready project models and electrical schematics. Accuracy and completeness must be maintained through all levels of construction to ensure complete BOMs for Purchasing and layouts for Production.  Electro-Mechanical Engineers are required to produce electrical schematics of their designs.  All steps of the engineering process must meet or exceed Nomad Global Communication Solutions’ standards of excellence.

Essential Functions / Responsibility:

  • Collaboratively develop standardized electrical modules:

              o With Production - to optimize manufacturability, reduce SKUs and unique tooling, and produce the best value assemblies for Nomad.

              o Within Solidworks - that can be used within final Project 3D models by Design Engineers to meet the majority of each Project’s base AC and DC electrical requirements.

              o For Sales - to be use as differentiators within Nomad’s markets.

  • Create Production-ready electrical schematics for the Electrical team based on information from Client specifications, Design Engineering models and other sources as needed. 
  • Create Production-ready electrical models and drawings for Assembly team, including standardized CNC’d mounting plates, positioning JIGS and other physical elements to improve Assembly’s efficiency in assembling, pulling and terminating electrical for each Project, while also improving consistency and quality between Projects.
  • Assist in creation of standardized drawing templates for consistency, error reduction and speed in the production of schematics (currently using Electra software). 
  • Maintain electronic database (Excel or similar) to track components as well as to generate complete and accurate BOMs for each Project. 
  • Produce circuit load calculations for proper sizing of wiring, breakers/fuses, generators and shore inputs and for ensuring proper load balancing.
  • Communicate with Design Engineers, Production, Supply Chain and Sales as to standards that have been developed to ensure alignment throughout the teams.
  • Create complete solid models of new Projects. 
  • Assist Design Engineers in Project component modeling and R&D.
  • Assist Sales and Marketing by creating feasible model drawings that can be used in marketing materials and proposals.
  • Evaluate new products, providing recommendation for continuous improvements.
  • Work with Production to answer questions and clarify designs.
  • Willing, on a very limited basis, to travel as needed by Management. 
  • Additional duties as assigned by Management. 

Basic Knowledge Desired: 

  • Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.

Position: Supply Chain Manager – Supply Chain

Reporting to the COO, the Supply Chain Manager is responsible for leading, planning, developing, and coordinating the activities of all traditional Supply Chain roles: Purchasing, Planning, Inventory Control, Inbound and Outbound Logistics, and Warehousing. 

You will be expected to foster and lead liaison with all departments to ensure accurate Bill of Material (BOM), Master Schedule input and maintenance, MRP execution and maintenance, timely and accurate purchasing, materials management, and processing of pick lists to meet Production requirements. 

Essential Functions / Responsibility:

• Critically analyze Nomad’s existing practices against current Best practices for:

     o Procurement Strategies. Develop and maintain procurement channels along with the development and maintenance of supplier partnerships.

     o Implement new or improved supply chain processes and strategies.

     o Define performance metrics for measurement or evaluation of supply chain effectiveness. 

     o Represent Nomad in negotiating contracts for best price, lead time, and terms. 

• Develop and communicate materials management policies, procedures, and internal controls using current Best Practices. 

• Analyze Nomad’s existing warehouse and inventory control practices against current Best Practices and propose/implement changes required to close any gaps found. 

• Ensure that all transactions are timely, accurate, and efficiently executed. 

• Lead Nomad’s Purchasing, Materials Planning, and Inventory Control teams, ensuring expectations are clearly communicated and met. Interface with Finance, Engineering, and Production on a daily basis to ensure communication and tasks are handled in a timely manner. 

• Create supply chain strategies to ensure availability of products and reduce risk of shortage or overstock, using a 12 month rolling demand profile whenever practical. 

• Highlight potential and actual shortages to Nomad’s Production and Management teams in a timely manner. 

• Guarantee availability of components to avoid material shortages and production downtime. 

• Generate and manage MRP, and the resultant flow of purchase orders to meet production requirements and ensure precision and accuracy of PO’s generated by MRP and the Purchasing team. 

• Generate monthly reports for Inventory and Consumption. 

• Maintain data accuracy and completeness in Nomad’s ERP to support other departments’ reporting needs. 

• Implement inventory controls as required to minimize unplanned issue problems, manage cycle count activities to support inventory variance target. 

• Manage inventory variance to below 1%. 

Basic Knowledge Desired:

Position:           Electrical Technician - Production

Schedule:         Permanent / Full-Time

Reports To:      Electrical Team Lead/Production Manager

Wage:               $14 - 23 / hour DOE

Overview: Nomad Global Communication Solutions is a leading provider of communication and response products serving a wide variety of customers. This is a hands-on role to safely provide quality electrical knowledge and skills to build projects that meet customer and Nomad specifications. To install, test and quality assure the 12V and 120V systems within projects. Evaluate and continuously improve electrical processes, in Nomad while maintaining consistent use of existing ones.

Essential Functions / Responsibility:

  • Splicing wires and soldering connections to fixtures and equipment.
  • Diagnosing or repairing problems with electrical equipment, such as lights, relays, battery isolators, generators sound, navigation, communication, security equipment, and leveling systems in motor vehicles.
  • Installing equipment and accessories such as stereos, navigation equipment, communication equipment, and security systems.
  • Running wires and cables for AC and DC systems, controls, and various electronic appliances.
  • Cutting openings and drilling holes for fixtures and equipment, using electric drills, air saws, and multi-tools.
  • Replace electrical or electronic components.
  • Build wooden enclosures and carpeted wall panels to custom fit vehicle dimensions.
  • Ability to be cross-trained in areas including, but not limited to, flooring installation, plumbing, door, and window installation, HVAC, cabinet and counter-top making, welding, and I.T. integration.
  • Additional duties as needed by supervisor.

Basic Knowledge Desired:

  • Readiness and understanding of electrical pull sheets and wiring diagrams.

Working Environment:

  • Partially environmentally controlled indoor environment. Depending upon the time of year, the working temperature can fluctuate between 60F and 100F, but typically held at 70F.
  • Sometimes needed to work outside in hot or cold environment for short periods of time.
  • Team Member must have the ability to work from heights of the ground floor to 20’ above ground on ladders, man lifts, and various other platforms.
  • Team Members are subjected to noise levels which may range from moderately loud to loud. A Hearing Conservation Test was performed, eliminating the requirement for hearing protection; however, it is available if needed.
  • All Team Members must wear close-toed shoes and the provided OSHA approved eye protection at all times on the Production Floor.
  • Team Members are exposed to a variety of household/commercial chemicals which requires Team Members to follow company rules/regulations regarding safety and MSDS information.

  • 1-5+ years of experience diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical circuitry.
  • 1-5+ years experience reading and following CAD.

· Will be cross-trained to work on a variety of processes including, but not limited to: flooring installation, electrical systems, plumbing, door and window installation, stabilizing systems, HVAC, cabinet and counter-top making, welding and technology integration.

Working Environment:

· The Employee must have the ability to work from heights at ground floor up to 20’ from the ground on ladders or platforms of varying sizes.

· The Employee will be subjected to noise levels which may range from moderately loud to loud and will be required to wear provided safety hearing devices from time to time. 

· The Employee will be exposed to a variety of household/commercial chemicals daily which will require the Employee to follow company rules/regulations outlined by that chemical’s MSDS. 

· All Team Members must wear closed-toe shoes and provided OSHA approved eye protection at all times on the Production Floor.

· PPE – The employee will be required to wear provided safety eye-wear throughout the performance of their duties. In some cases (painting, insulating, undercoating, etc.) the team member may be required to wear a respirator. No team member is to perform the duties requiring a respirator until they have successfully complied with the Respiratory Protection Program. 

Qualifications & Experience: 

· High School Graduate, Diploma or GED received. 

· Prefer a minimum of 2 years documented experience working with one or more of the bullet point topics on page 1 under Essential Functions/Responsibility, bullet point three. 

· Valid driver’s license in good standing.

Welders/Fabricators will utilize the necessary skills and procedures to construct items used in the production of specialized communication units produced by Nomad GCS. 


Essential Functions / Responsibility:
· Fabricate and weld metal and/or aluminum by applying the appropriate welding techniques. 

· Must maintain a good proficiency rate, avoiding any rework. Complete extra training to achieve a higher level of skill and accuracy. 

· Requires the ability to weld both metal and aluminum using MIG, TIG, spool gun, and push-pull. 

· Strong points would be in fabrication concepts, practices, and procedures within the welding field. 

· Relies on experience and judgment to accomplish goals. 

· Works under general supervision; typically reports to a supervisor or manager. 

· May be cross-trained to work on a variety of processes including, but not limited to: flooring installation, electrical systems, plumbing, door and window installation, stabilizing systems, HVAC, cabinet and countertop making, welding and technology integration.

Basic Knowledge Desired:
· Understands the significance of the Nomad Core Values and displays a demonstrated willingness to apply them to your work.

· 1-5+ years of experience of interpreting blueprints, specifications, diagrams or schematics and determining appropriate welding process. 

· 1-5+ years of experience and knowledge of MIG, TIG, spool gun, or push-pull welding applications. 

· Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. 

· Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods. 

· Basic knowledge of the Metric and Imperial Measurement Systems, and how to calculate with them.

Physical Demands:
· Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (unassisted) safely on a regular basis.

· High School Graduate, Diploma or GED received. Further education or an apprenticeship desired. 

· 1-5+ years of previous welding and metal fabrication experience. 

· Good math skills including understanding numerical data and taking accurate measurements. 

· Must have valuable clear vision, being able to see details at close range.

· Required knowledge and experience with: Interpreting blueprints, specifications, diagrams or schematics, determining appropriate welding process, MIG, TIG, spool gun, push-pull welding applications.
