BASIC FUNCTIONAL SCOPE & RESPONSIBILITIES:  

The chief function of the IT Project Engineer is to transform the Bid documentation from Marketing and Sales, Engineering, and other departments into a set of build documents, training documents, configurations, processes and procedures, and a Build of Materials (BOM) to meet and exceed a customer’s operational goals for the communication requirements of their project.

 The documentation and tools that the IT Project Engineer will create will include, but will not be limited to:

  • A comprehensive Cable Runs spreadsheet that will show source and destination locations of all IT related cabling
  • A Rack Layout spreadsheet that will show the mounting location and rack shelf designations of all equipment that will be mounted in the electronic(s) rack(s)
  • A comprehensive Equipment Interconnects spreadsheet which will show all of the in-rack patches and patch cable types between different rack-mounted in the vehicle
  • An Antenna Layout spreadsheet which will show the physical mounting locations of all RF antennas on the roof of the vehicle
  • A Network Configuration spreadsheet which documents all equipment related IP addresses, serial numbers, and login credentials
  • A Cable Test spreadsheet which will include all homerun cables that will need to be tested, and
  • An Equipment Test spreadsheet which will include all installed IT-related equipment and antennas that will need to be tested during the Testing phase of the build

In addition, all correspondence and engineering processes will be documented in a project-specific OneNote notebook, and additional Visio block diagrams will be created.

The IT Project Engineer is responsible to:

  • Release the above documents, Build of Materials, and processes and procedures to the IT Integration Team and the Procurement staff
  • To assist in any changes or updates to the documents in a timely manner
  • To work with the IT Integration Team to meet the Project completion and Test Phase dates agreed upon by the Project Management team during Project Meetings
  • To complete device specific configurations required for the equipment to properly meet the customer's operational goals contained within the Build Specification
  • To complete final testing and "sign off" of each vehicle that leaves Nomad

PRINCIPLE FUNCTIONAL SCOPE & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Perform in all aspects of the business including:
  1. information systems engineering
  2. documentation creation
  3. research & design
  4. reverse engineering
  5. component selection
  6. training of end user or other Nomad employees
  7. project management
  8. and provide troubleshooting and end product support.
  • Design, analyze and build prototypes that meet product requirements and customer
  • Perform validation and verification testing and coordinate testing with Sales and Production 
  • Contribute to, review and  provide feedback on specifications and conceptual drawings
  • Manage IT project engineering  from conception level through release for production
  • Highlights Internal Technical Review (ITR) questions from original Specs & PNs
  • Contribute to the External Technical Review (ETR) meeting with the end customer and Sales and Marketing
  • Finalizes Specs and PNs from pre-change orders
  • Conduct R&D on items not identified or being considered within change items
  • Update questions in Specs and PNS
  • Coordinate with Sales, any necessary, additional clarifying meetings with Client, as needed
  •  Provide after hours technical support for clients according to IT Engineering rotation.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in voice and data networking
  • In depth knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Professional 2007
  • Must have experience designing and implementing network design
  • Must have experience with writing configurations for different communication equipment
  • Must have experience in an end-user, technical support role
  • Advanced computer skills to facilitate in GUI, CLI, and application-based configuration of equipment
  • Must have good planning, organization, communication skills and be team oriented
  • Cisco CCNA, CCNA-Voice, CCNA security certifications or greater preferred
Wage is $17.00 - $19.23 per hour starting, raises are structured over the course of a year as experience and responsibilities increase.  First one at 90 days, another at 1 year if certifications and expectations are met.  

This is a full time Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. position; full benefits package including group health insurance, voluntary benefits, 401k, PTO, and paid holidays.

As our Marketing Development Coordinator, you will be a leader on the team tasked with understanding our customer mission as well as telling the world the Nomad story as we work to produce the world’s best connected mobile operations centers.  This person is our best megaphone to the market, and truly enjoys finding innovative ways to craft our strategy around our messaging and our platforms.  This position works closely with multiple internal and external groups (e.g. inside and outside sales teams, graphic design, operations, production, engineering, etc.) as needed to lead and produce a winning effort.  

Within the marketing scope of responsibilities:
• Clearly understand our customers, their mission and how to make them the hero
• Create and drive innovative marketing strategies that will provide sales leads
• Organize our message to meet the current and potential needs of our customers
• Proactively look for opportunities to tell the world about Nomad

Essential Functions:
• Guide our messaging while utilizing other available resources ad team members (sales team, graphic design, etc.)
• Create product content (e.g. sales documentation, customer and product videos, website copy, etc.) to articulate the benefits of our platforms to the world.
• Measure and optimize the buyer journey to better understand future product feature adoption and usage. 
• Lead our outbound marketing (social media, email blasts, press releases, etc.) as well as craft a successful inbound marketing program
• Act as a conduit between the organization and the outside sales team to help interpret client mission and pain points and support company goals through multiple outlets
• Gain fulfillment from helping customers improve their ability to communicate when it is critical.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:
• 1-3 years true marketing experience, MUST BE ABLE TO VERIFY THROUGH PAST EMPLOYERS

• The desire and ability to progress through the Nomad career trajectory is a preferred characteristic
• Verifiable experience working with agency/client partners to “tell their story”
• Graphic design skills (InDesign, Photoshop, etc.)
• Experience in website CMS, email marketing, CRM and Analytics, Basic HTML / CSS
• Experience with office applications, specifically spreadsheets (Excel, Google Sheets)
• Knowledge of database marketing, targeting, and segmentation
• Proficiency across various social platforms and management tools (Hootsuite, LinkedIn, Buffer, etc.)
• BA / BS / Marketing, Journalism, Communications, or equivalent work experience

The PROCESS SPECIALIST carries the primary focus of establishing processes and systems to ensure that the Production work flow is balanced and meets the TAKT and budgetary requirements for each Program.  This position will also be responsible for creating measurable metrics that will be directly used in the creation of a potential profit sharing program.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:  

Leadership:
This position will be part of a focused Special Operations Team.  Due to the high expectations on this team, it is critical that this person provides inspirational leadership, teamwork and daily excellence to deliver organizational goals and objectives, originally and specifically related to the creation and running of an exciting new Program, but applicable to other subsequent Programs. Building organizational bridges across functional teams through positive, well communicated, professional and results-oriented strategies will be requisite to achieving success.  

STRATEGIC PLANNING:
• Responsible for establishing the Program’s processes and measurement tools needed for the successful and profitable production TAKT of one (1) trailer per week within the first 6 months, up to two (2) per week by the end of the first year and up to six (6) per week thereafter.
• Responsible for creating and rebalancing work flow, without significant disruptions to flow or efficiencies, as efficiencies and TAKT increase throughout Program’s life.
• Work with Team, including Finance Department, to ensure Program is managed within budgets.  
• Create Dashboards for weekly (minimum) reporting to Team of key metrics (ie. Line’s output, DL/IDL hours, COGS, quality, efficiency gains).  
• Use data to establish and measure profit sharing incentive’s program, as developed by Special Operations Team.

TACTICAL EXECUTION:
• Use the strategic/planning tools developed above to meet the Company’s overall priorities and goals.  
• Assessing Program’s progress and determining when skill sets and efforts of this position would have a better return for Nomad if they were also used to improve areas outside of the Program.

RELATIONSHIPS: 
• Report directly to the Special Operations Team Manager.
• Works hand-in-hand with other members of the Special OPS Team.
• Works with Production techs to balance work flow and clearly communicate TAKT requirements.
• Works with Finance to ensure actual and budgetary results are consistent, accurate and timely.
• Works with Supply Chain to ensure flow of parts are efficient and timely.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Manufacturing environment, work station may be located in an open area within the plant.  
• Temperature inside the building may fluctuate depending on the outside temperature.  

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Ability to spend the majority of the day walking at a fast pace throughout the manufacturing facility.
• Ability to climb inside the units, under the units, and often times on top of the units for inspection purposes.
• Ability and willingness to utilize all PPE required to perform duties safely.  

REQUIREMENTS:
• Documented and verifiable past work experience equivalent to an Associates Degree in process control, supply chain, business, finance, engineering, industrial engineering, or other related courses of study preferred. BA/BS preferred.
• Demonstrated strong leadership skills and team-building.
• 3+ years of process controls and/or process cost controls experience strongly desired.
• Excellent PC skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications and custom purchasing/production (ERP) databases.  
• Excellent math skills.  Ability to make real-world decisions based upon data/calculations.
• Working knowledge in project scheduling, work flow and work balancing.
• Ability to read CAD drawings.
• Knowledge of Lean and/or Six Sigma preferred.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

This position will be part of a focused Special Operations Team.  Due to the high expectations on this team, it is critical that this person provides inspirational leadership, teamwork and daily excellence to deliver organizational goals and objectives, originally and specifically related to the creation and running of an exciting new Program, but applicable to other subsequent Programs.  Building organizational bridges across functional teams through positive, well communicated, professional and results-oriented strategies will be requisite to achieving success.  

Strategic/Planning:
• Responsible for establishing the Program’s Production assembly line layout needed for the successful and profitable production TAKT of one (1) trailer per week within the first 6 months, up to two (2) per week by the end of the first year and up to six (6) per week thereafter.
• Responsible for creating and then reworking the Line’s layout, without significant disruptions to flow or efficiencies, as efficiencies and TAKT increase throughout Program’s life.
• Responsible for creating an effective and efficient flow for incoming raw parts, parts storage and delivery to both subassembly and Line Station locations, as well as the movement of completed subassemblies to their next in-process staging.
• Responsible for the safe storage of all parts.
• Responsible for the creation, and sometimes building, of jigs and fixtures needed by the Line to ensure TAKT, budgeted per-unit hours and quality are met.
• Continuously improve build processes and flow to improve efficiencies.
• Work with Team, especially the Process Specialist position, to ensure balanced process flow and scheduled TAKT are met.
• Clearly articulate and illustrate build needs to FAB and Assembly for construction of needed jigs, fixtures and other constructions required for build-out of Line.
• Identify all tooling and equipment needs.  Complete ROI analyses to justify purchases.

Tactical Execution:
• Use the strategic/planning tools developed above to meet the Company’s overall goals.
• Assessing Program’s progress and determining when skillsets and efforts of this position would have a better return for Nomad if they were also used to improve areas outside of the Program.

• Excellent PC skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications.  Familiarity with ERP systems is a plus.  
• Excellent math skills.
• Working knowledge in Production workflow layouts.
• Ability to read CAD drawings.
• Knowledge of Lean and/or Six Sigma preferred.
